A great cottage set at the top end of the main street, with a well stocked Co-op a 2 minute walk away. All facilities were great and the kitchen was well stocked. Arrival instructions were easy to follow. If new to the area would recommend a visit to the Aira Force waterfall, which is around a 30 minute drive away

This cottage is stunning. Beautifully building, well appointed, fully equipped for all your cooking and general needs (including extensive dvd and jigsaws), warm, clean and we couldnt have asked for more. We loved the village, were welcomed by the locals and had some great walks. A fantastic base.

A very enjoyable stay in this cottage on the edge of the Lake District. TV problem others have commented on seem to be resolved. A lovely property. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the loft room. As the owners say, the lounge downstairs is chillier but warms up in no time with the cosy gas fire. Beautiful, sympathetic dcor too. Nice cottage which was well furnished and in a good location to visit all parts of the Lakes. Is ready for a deep clean though as lots of cobwebs in all rooms/around windows etc and toilet brushes need replacing (just hate disgusting brushes-sorry!).

We had a great week in this lovely spacious warm well equipped cottage. The cottage was a great location for long walks up Skiddaw, around Haweswater Reservoir, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Hadrian's Wall & Derwent Water. Beautiful cottage ideally situated for visiting all that the Lakes has to offer. Very well appointed with everything you could need. A quaint, traditional cottage in a good location. It is very warm and nice and quiet, ideal for a break away. One major complaint is the lack of live TV, inexcusable, and a TV remote that gave a daily challenge, just to select an app (all Internet based).

The location was very good with walks from the property and a good selection of shops and pubs within walking distance. The property itself was comfortable and reasonably well equipped although the TV was frustrating and relied on watching programmes through BBC iPlayer etc.

The house was just wonderful to stay, the staircase was always so lovely to look at each time we walked in. Front room with gas fire nice and cosy.
